On behalf of the entire International School Bangkok community, it is my absolute pleasure to welcome you to our campus! We are thrilled to host this year’s Cultural Convention and are committed to providing an open stage—and the best possible technical support—for your creative vision to take flight.
For the next few days, ISB will be transformed by your energy. There is a unique magic that happens when Dance, Drama, and Tech come together. Whether you are hitting a mark under the spotlight, delivering a stirring monologue, or precisely timing a complex light cue from the booth, you are all essential storytellers.
The legendary theatre director Peter Brook once said, "I can take any empty space and call it a bare stage." During this Cultural Convention, we invite you to take our spaces and make them anything but bare. Fill them with your movement, your voices, and your technical ingenuity.
This convention is an opportunity to step outside your home rehearsals and see how your peers from across the IASAS schools approach the same craft. I encourage you to:
Connect with fellow artists: Share a warmup, a script insight, or a technical "hack" with a student from another school.
Embrace the process: Remember that the rehearsals, the sound checks, and the "tech-runs" are just as vital as the final curtain call.
Celebrate the "Unseen": To our Tech delegates—your work is the heartbeat of every performance. We see and value the expertise you bring to the wings and the booth.
A successful Cultural Convention is a massive "ensemble" effort. Please join me in acknowledging the dedication of our coaches, guest artists, host families, the ISB Booster Club, our tireless support staff, and the many student and faculty volunteers who have worked behind the scenes to make this event possible.
We wish you a rewarding, inspiring, and truly remarkable stay at ISB. Break a leg (metaphorically, of course!).
Welcome to Bangkok, welcome to ISB—the stage is yours!
Warmly,
Debi Caskey

Sawadee Ka,
On behalf of the entire ISB community, it is my great pleasure to welcome you to International School Bangkok for the 2026 IASAS Dance, Drama and Tech Cultural Convention. We are honored to host this year’s event and know that it will be a memorable one.
Over the coming days, we will be treated to powerful performances, creative expression, and the collaborative spirit that defines IASAS. This convention is a celebration of artistry, courage, and connection. Whether on stage, behind the scenes, or supporting technical production, each of you plays an essential role in bringing stories to life. This is, above all, a festival of creativity, a time to share talents, learn from one another, and build lasting friendships across our IASAS community.
We hope your time at ISB is both inspiring and enjoyable, and that when you depart, you carry with you a sense of pride in your work and appreciation for the connections you have made. Events like this remind us how the arts help us understand one another and express what matters most.
An event of this scale is only possible because of the generosity and dedication of many people. We are deeply grateful to our Arts and Activities Team, the coaches and teachers guiding students, the Booster Club, the families who are hosting our visiting students, the audience members who come to support performances, and our Building and Grounds team who help prepare and care for our campus. Their collective efforts make this convention possible and meaningful for everyone involved.
We look forward to an engaging and unforgettable weekend!
Warm regards,
Kate McKenna
HS Principal
